The Boat
Meet Raya Aguila, our 40’ Fountaine Pajot Fiji performance catamaran!
Fully re-fit in 2016, this light and fast cruiser has all the amenities. Inside you'll find a spacious galley and seating salon, modern heads with push button toilets, and dual changing berths. On deck, our wide and comfortable aft swim platform offers easy access to the warm Caribbean waters, two fresh water showers, and a even full sized grill where we prepare your delicious meals at sea! Guests can escape the heat in our covered but breezy cockpit or catch some rays on the expansive front trampoline - both perfect options to get your lounge on!
On the performance front, we routinely make 8+ knots in the normal trade winds (hint: that's fast), but when the winds are calm or seas get rough, our upgraded dual 75HP Turbo Diesels ensure we stay stay safe, stable, and on schedule in all conditions. We like to think of her as a sailboat with power, not a power boat with sails.
Our Story
Hi there! We are Robert & Natasha Rhorer, the owner/operators of Amavi Charters.
Our love of sailing began 13 years ago on a Hobie Cat in Mexico, and ultimately led us to weekends dodging commuter ferries while sailing around the Statue of Liberty in Manhattan on a J/24 sailboat. It was there that we were inspired to push pause on our corporate careers, and set an intention to start a sailing charter company in the tropics.
On Roatan, we were blessed to find a boat + crew that fit our vision, and we've turned our love of sailing and making new friends over good food and drink into Amavi Charters. Now, with five charter seasons under our belt, we are so proud of how much our company has grown, and how often we get to welcome back repeat guests - it’s truly a dream come true.
Nowadays we try to hop aboard on charters as often as we can, but as the owners of a small family business we each wear many hats, making it impossible to join every single one. Rest assured, you and your loved ones will be in excellent hands with our friendly, attentive, and experienced crew - meet them below!

Captain Andrew, First Mate Alan, and Cruise Director Osman all hail from the island. They know the reefs and deliver a great guest experience while keeping your journey safe and enjoyable.
